Welcome to No Stress VBS

This is a site that is dedicated to Children's Ministry with an emphasis on Vacation Bible School or daily VBS. When you peruse the site you will find resources which will include.... Churches, Ministries, Evangelists, Lesson Ideas, Articles and more. There will be links to specific sites of interest and a links page as well. This site is owned and operated by Steven Phillips. Brother Phillips is a master balloon twister that used to travel doing Summer Bible Schools with his wife Debbie. Because of circumstances that caused both to lose jobs that allowed them to travel during the summer they are no longer doing the summer VBS right now. They are still a help when possible to Fundamental Baptistic ministries.

Although this site is run by an Independent, Fundamental Baptist the content is open and available to any ministry that is trying to reach children for Christ. Any evangelists listed in this web site will have different rules or guidelines for the types of churches they go into. Some will be Independent and Fundamental only. Some will be King James only. Some will go into churches that are Baptistic and some yet will go into any type church as long as the church accepts their doctrine that is being preached.

Vacation Bible Schools and children's ministry is a large ministry and covers many different talents. Few children's workers will have just one talent as it takes many different things to keep the very short attention span of a child. It is said that if you take the age of the child then that is the normal attention span of the said child. Imagine having a group of children ages 3 to 12 and you have three minute attention spans all the way to 12 minute attention spans. That is a very great responsibility for the children's worker. 

Balloon twisting, magic, clowning, chalk art and more are used. You have to be a juggler and storyteller. By the way, Puppets are also a very effective and popular way to reach children. Your visuals need to be top notch as well as your songs. Overhead or multimedia projectors are used and more. Most children's workers make the mistake of thinking that they need to just entertain the children but the fact is that Jr. Church, Sunday School and VBS are all an extension of the main service and are actually ministries of the church. You are responsible for teaching and reaching these children for Christ. You need to have well thought out programs that are played out like a play book for the National Championship game.

Most churches looking for children's workers however will latch onto whoever they can that will be willing to do the job. They assume that the person they choose will be able to do the job. They are not given any training or budget but yet they are expected to take care of these children. If something goes wrong..... Which it always does. Then they are crucified. Usually by the people who will not help.

Statistics will vary based on the person giving them but for the most part they are comparable. The most ROI (Return on investment) you will get for your investment is with children! 

• The Catholic church says if you give them your child till the age of five they will never leave the catholic church.

• 80% or more of the salvation decisions that take place are between the age of 4 and 12. 

Why do you think there is such an attack on churches and ministries working with children today! Why do you think there are so many laws being passed to prevent children from being influenced for God. 

This site is intended to be an encouragement and helps to children's workers and give resources that can be used.
